sesquĭplāris, is, and sesquĭplā-rĭus, ii, m. [sesquiplex], a soldier who received a ration and a half as a reward for his bravery, Veg. Mil. 2, 7; Inscr. Rein. cl. 8, n. 13; Inscr. Orell. 3476; called also SESQVIPLICARIVS, Hyg. Grom. med.; Inscr. Fabr. p. 104, n. 245;
